After Almirall’s acquisition of Hermal in 2007, Almirall Hermal GmbH was founded and appointed as the Centre of Excellence in Dermatology and Almirall's affiliate in Germany. Here are some milestones our local history:

| 1953 | Expropriation and re-establishment of Hermal-Chemie Kurt Herrmann in Hamburg |
| 1960 | Relocation and start of the business activities in Reinbek near Hamburg |
| 1986 | Death of the company founder and takeover by Merck, Darmstadt |
| 1997 | Acquisition of Hermal by Boots Healthcare International, Nottingham/UK |
| 2006 | Takeover of BHI by Reckitt Benckiser PLC, UK |
| 2007 | Acquisition of Hermal by Almirall S.A., Spain |
