Acne
Tips
- A dermatologist should already be consulted when the first blackheads form in puberty.
- The thorough cleansing of the skin with mild cleaning agents (e.g. syndets) is important to prepare the skin for therapy and/or care.
- A mild peeling treatment can be applied one to three times a week.
- Anti-microbial drugs with benzoyl peroxide (e.g. wash emulsions) are useful. They are available in pharmacies. It should, however, be noted that products with benzoyl peroxide can bleach coloured items of clothing and hair. Therefore, the products should be carefully applied near the eyebrows, etc.
- Many acne preparations can dry out the skin. Special products that soothe and moisturise the skin and that have been specifically developed for use on skin with a tendency towards acne can support the treatment. When selecting the right care product, you should ensure that the packet contains information specifying that the product does not cause blackheads. In most cases, the following can then be found on the packet: "non-comedogenic".
