Allergic rhinitis

Symptoms

The most significant symptoms are:

  • Sneezing
  • Itchy nose and eyes
  • Runny nose
  • Blocked nose

When our nose is blocked, we frequently breathe through our mouth. Some of the follow-on and further symptoms are:

  • Coughing
  • Throatache
  • Wheezing
  • Streaming eyes
  • Headaches
  • Problems in concentrating

Allergic rhinitis can also be accompanied by other (allergic) diseases, and secondary diseases (sequelae) can occur as it develops, e.g.:

  • Conjunctivitis
  • Sinusitis
  • Asthma
  • Atopic eczema (neurodermatitis)
  • Food allergy
  • Limited productivity
