Athlete's foot
Questions & Answers
What can I do in addition to treatment with medication?
Feet should always be well dried after washing/showering/bathing; don't forget the areas between the toes! Shoes and tights should be regularly disinfected. Further information can be found in this section under Tips.
How long does the treatment of athlete's foot take?
The treatment of a fungal infection of the feet should be carried out over 3 to 4 weeks, even if the visible signs on the skin have already died down beforehand. Otherwise, relapses might soon occur. Most anti-fungal agents only combat the growing fungi, not its persistent form, the spores. These are then eliminated with the natural skin regeneration process.
